Team: New Jersey DevilsThe franchise was poor to mediocre for most of its first 13 seasons, only making the playoffs once. However, under current president and general manager Lou Lamoriello, the Devils have made the playoffs in 19 out of the last 21 seasons, including each of the last 12. They have won the Stanley Cup three times (1995, 2000 and 2003).
The Devils are known for their defensive based style of play, but have recently also excelled with their offense skills as well. The Devils have a close rivalry with both the New York Rangers, and the Philadelphia Flyers. The Devils have won the Atlantic Division season title eight times, most recently during the 2008-09 season.
Martin Brodeur has been the back bone of the Devils success and during his time with the Devils (the only NHL team he has ever played for) he has become the NHL’s all-time leader in regular season wins, shutouts, and games played.
