USA 2010 Olympic Hockey Team Roster

The USA Olympic Hockey Team 2010 roster was reveled during the 2010 Winter Classic hockey game. Team USA hopes to improve their disappointing eighth place finish at the last winter games and bring back the type of team that gave them Gold in 1980 at Lake Placid. Only three players with prior Olympic experience have been included

Have a look at the Team USA 2010 roster:

Forwards include:
David Backes
Dustin Brown
Ryan Callahan
Chris Drury
Patrick Kane
Ryan Kesler
Phil Kessel
Jamie Langenbrunner
Ryan Malone
Zach Parise
Joe Pavelski
Bobby Ryan
Paul Stastny.

DEFENSEMEN:
Erik Johnson
Jack Johnson
Mike Komisarek
Paul Martin
Brooks Orpik
Brian Rafalski
Ryan Suter.

GOALTENDERS:
Ryan Miller
Jonathan Quick
Tim Thomas.

Some key players that were left off the roster include Dustin Byfuglien, Scott Gomez, Bill Guerin and Ron Hainsey.

The Head Coach will be Ron Wilson and General Manager is Brian Burke (hopefully they do not use too much from the Toronto Maple Leafs secret play books :)

We will have to wait and see in February if the Team USa selection was the winning combination or not.

The Russian Olympic Roster should be named later this week.

  1. Scott says:

Their top line wingers, Kane and Parise, are both very small, although they are highly talented.

They put together a nice balance of skill and grit with players ranging from Patrick Kane to Backes. Along with two way players with the likes of Callahan and Dustin Brown.

I think that USA will be a suprising team this year, considering how well Ryan Miller has been playing this season. He, alone, can steal games away from highly talented teams.
